About
My Practice: Coming into therapy can be daunting; however, with your motivation and with a well-suited therapeutic partnership, healing is possible. People pursue therapy for different reasons. Often due to feeling overwhelmed, helpless, depressed or stressed. Others attend during life transitions or when looking for new ways to communicate their needs in their relationships. Whether your goal is to focus on challenges that you are currently facing or issues from the past, our work will focus on whatever is most central for you. I aim to always provide a safe and comfortable environment for you to bring your concerns. I operate from a strengths-based perspective, utilizing a person-centered approach to therapy. My goal is to provide a compassionate, and grounding space.
Therapy for LGBTQIA People of Color: As an LGBTQIA+ person of color, you may feel distressed living in a hostile world to people who look and love as you do. This oppression might be leading to shame, internalized oppression, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or out-of-control behaviors. You also may be having difficulty gaining traction in dating or at work. Maybe you feel fully affirmed in who you are, but are navigating trauma, or other life adjustments.
I'm here to help. I do that by first listening deeply to you. Then I use my training in multiple approaches and years of experience to be your therapist. That means aiming to provide a safe and comfortable environment for you to bring any of your current concerns while getting to the roots of your suffering. UNFORTUNATELY, I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME.

Insurance and Fees
INSURANCE
I am "out-of-network" for all insurance plans at this time. I am currently in the process of enrolling in-network with BCBS-NC and TRICARE; however, as of right now I am not able to make claims on your behalf with those insurance companies.
Being an "out-of-network" provider means that you pay me a fee, and I supply you with a bill that may be presented to your insurance company for application for reimbursement to you directly. Every plan has different out-of-network benefits, and it is your responsibility to contact your insurance provider for more information on out-of-network deductibles, eligible expenses and conditions, reimbursement rates, and co-insurance. For more detailed information on your particular behavioral health benefits and costs, please contact the Member Services phone number on the back of your insurance card to speak with a representative.
FEES and therapy services
Location: Therapy services are offered in-person at the address below or via teletherapy.
15 min Initial Consultation: I offer a 15 min initial consultation (via phone) with new clients before scheduling an intake. This is one of the ways to determine if we are a good fit. Additionally, I can provide education on insurance and set up expectations on the importance of regular sessions.
Intake: Our work begins with an intake where I ask new clients a wide range of questions. This session is an opportunity of getting an idea of who someone is and how I may be of help. If the fit doesn’t feel “right”, then the client will have the option to ask for referrals. Intake session fees are $180.00 for 75 mins.
On-going Therapy And Fee Information: After the intake, individual ongoing therapy sessions are between 53 and 60 minutes. The rate for these sessions is $150.00. Longer and shorter session times are prorated to the hourly fee.
Group Therapy: Group sessions following intake are 90 minutes and $60.00 per session. Agreements about payment amount and method are discussed prior to our first session and then discussed more fully during intake.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
